Katalin Hanana is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH16610). She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida International University in 2010. Then she went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2014.
Over the course of Katalin’s nine years working in the mental health field she has worked with in a battered women’s shelter helping women and children who had experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. She has also worked with the elder population who have Alzheimer’s and Dementia as well as with their caregivers. Additionally, she has worked with children ages 2-12 years old, teens, and their families helping them cope with trauma, relationship issues, substance abuse, adoption, foster care, and behavioral issues.
Currently, Katalin specializes in working with women who are experiencing domestic abuse, have low esteem, feelings of hopelessness, depression, anxiety, have experienced trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, marital difficulties and everyday stress.
Katalin utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Infant Mental Health, Family Systems Theory, Mindfulness, and Trauma Focused throughout her therapy sessions.
Mrs. Hanana provides a safe, non-judgmental space for client to express themselves openly and freely. She is passionate about helping and empowering others to be the best version of themselves; moreover, she believes that the most empowering and loving step one can take for themselves and their loved ones is to reach out and seek help. Katalin’s goal is to help clients live a more balanced and happier lifestyle by helping them cope with life’s challenges.
Katalin is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish and is currently accepting new clients. She offers daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
