Jordan Nodelman, MSW, LCSW
Jordan Nodelman (he/him) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Florida #SW18058; Virginia #0904012773). He is a member in good stating with the National Association of Social Workers.
He graduated from Boston University with a BA in Psychology in 1998 and spent the next 18 years in administration and operations roles for closely held businesses. Seeking more meaningful work, he first became a Certified Financial Social Worker from the Center for Financial Social Work, in Asheville, NC. He then received a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW) from Barry University, as an Advanced Trauma Informed Clinical Social Worker.
Jordan’s clinical training took place during two graduate level internships, first in a Skilled Nursing Facility and then, as a counselor providing counseling services to diverse LBTGQI+ folks. He developed a passion for working with clients with trauma histories and completed further trainings in trauma resolution that have become the underpinning of services he now provides clients. Jordan is a trained Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, trained Brainspotting therapist and taken advanced attachment/relational training. Since graduate school, Jordan has run a successful practice as a staff Clinical Counselor in a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center in Fort Lauderdale.
At the Counseling and Wellness Center of South Florida, Jordan provides individual psychotherapy for adults, 18 and older. He has worked with clients with symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, depression, issues of accountability, life transitions, aging-related issues, dysfunctional relationship issues, career related concerns, and shifting limiting beliefs. Jordan also has extensive experience counseling individuals identifying with the diverse LGBTQI+ community, gender diverse folks, and their relatives.
Jordan is passionate and compassionate about the work he does and helping clients shift forward. His non-traditional path to counseling brings a unique set of life experiences to helping clients achieve their therapeutic goals in ways that traditionally trained psychotherapists may not.
Drawing upon concrete clinical training, Jordan uses EMDR and Brainspotting, combined with Solutions-focused and Mindfulness-based psychotherapy. He infuses these with real life experience, injecting honest, direct feedback to help clients move forward. His intention is that clients leave the therapeutic alliance with new, fresh, clear perspective on the issues that brought them into counseling, no longer burdened by their trauma history or limiting belief patterns.
