Eva Chocron, M.S., LMFT

Eva Chocron (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MT3991). She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the Central University of Venezuela (Universidad Central de Venezuela), where she graduated with honors and received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). Eva is a bilingual therapist; she speaks English and Spanish and has a culturally sensitive approach to counseling.
Ms. Chocron works with a wide range of clients, including individuals, groups, kids, teens, and families. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and families with young kids. With a background as an early childhood teacher and a vast play therapy experience, she utilizes play, art, and other creative means to help her clients. Eva has a therapeutic as well as a psychoeducational approach to parenting and conflict resolution.
When working in the school system, Eva realized the importance of the contextual reality of the families when working dysfunctional behaviors in children, and such, she has found that in these situations when parents make visible changes in their behavior, children typically mirror those changes.
Eva works collaboratively with her clients and values creating a judgment-free space for client to explore and creatively find solutions that work for them. Her strong background on humanistic and holistic therapy allows her to see each client as unique as their own circumstances, where there are no universal answers. She is passionate about being able to respect their client’s autonomy while guiding them through their own process of wellbeing. Even though she has intensive training in Solution Focused therapy and Narrative therapy, she utilizes a dialectic approach where she integrates in an eclectic manner other postmodern systemic modalities.
